Since its inception the competition has captured the imagination of contestants and audiences alike and, with a first prize of €1000, this years Star Search should be the most competitive yet. The talent in previous years has been truly amazing and whether you have a personal interest or not, your sure to be entertained.

These talented Kilkenny balladeers, who were second in the 2009 'All Ireland Talent Competion', have been winning over audiences since their formation in 2007. These open air free concerts have been a big part of the festival for many years and are hugely popular with adults and children. With a band as talented as Na Fianna on show, this year should prove to be no exception.

With her son Danny playing with the Coronas 5 days earlier, the festival is a real family affair for the Blacks.

This five-piece pop band have three albums, the third of which, 'Go God Go' was released in 2008. They have played both Oxygen and Electric Picnic and they have been used as theme music on the BBC. FRED are the most exciting band to come out of Ireland in a long time, "Like Sly & The Family Stone in a swordfight with the Flaming Lips, refereed by Brian Wilson" as one newspaper described them. Not to be missed!

The band, formerly known as Uisce Beatha, have successfully reintroduced Irish folk and ballads to a young audience while also winning the hearts of the more seasoned traditional music lovers. They rocked the dome last year with their rendition of 'Galway Girl' and more of the same is expected this year.
